Dear Boys,

I love your enthusiasm.  LOVE IT.  I love how you bound out of bed in the morning, ready to conquer the world….or at least the playroom.  I love how your most pressing concern is what superhero each of you will grow up to be.  I love that school is still fun for you, and that the highlight of your school day is playing on the playground.  I love that you commit to going to sleep at night with the same enthusiasm with which you greeted the day.

But at 7am on Saturday morning, do you think we could have that enthusiasm at a slightly lower volume?  Please?

  1. Answer: “No.” (or in our house, “No, Ma’am!”)

    • LOL. That’s the answer here too, although it’s disguised as a deafening “OKAY!” (just like in Cathy B’s house.) 🙂

  2. In our house, darling child #1 would respond with a deafening “SURE, MOM, NO PROBLEM!” and darling child #2 would simply go back to chasing the cat. The cat is not at all enthusiastic about anything other than hiding from child #2, so I won’t expect a response from her.

    • OUCH. My sides are hurting from laughing so hard! Both of mine fall into the deafening response column. 🙂

  3. It was one such morning that we implored (commanded) our boys to not wake us up and our eldest made a deposit in the heating vent.
